In the aftermath of the Ghost Riders, the boys were spending most of their nights before the end off school at the Stilinski place, and Melissa had generously...insisted that Chris spend his remaining time in Beacon Hills at her place before he headed back down to Mexico to continue hunting his sister.
Knowing better than to argue, Chris checked out of his motel and took the spare room at the McCall house without complaint. If nothing else, it gave him access to things he grudgingly admitted to missing in his time on the road: home cooked meals, fresh coffee, quiet nights of sleep uninterrupted by highway noise--and showers with great water pressure.
Well, great after Chris took a look at their water heater and tweaked a couple of things. Melissa had been so grateful that she'd kissed his cheek before hurrying off.
Which, of course, reminded him of that kiss in the Wild Hunt--and that wasn't something he was going to be able to get out of his head any time soon.
The house was empty for the moment as he finished a shower for the evening, and thought nothing of padding across the hall from the bathroom to his room. The kiss was so heavy on his mind, he was distracted enough to leave his door ajar as he padded around with nothing but a towel around his waist, rummaging through his bags for fresh clothes.
Melissa McCall didn't have the head for hunting, nor the skills or reflexes. She had the heart for it, though, the mettle and that backbone of steel--everything else could be learned.
And to top it all off, she kissed...well, she could kiss.
Kiss so well, just thinking about it had a broad, ridiculous smile on his face as he stood there, only vaguely extracting a shirt from his duffel, still barechested, still distracted...still feeling, all of a sudden, just how long it had been since he'd been kissed quite like that...

Date: 2017-02-03 06:26 am (UTC)Truth to be told, the memories of that moment when she had kissed Chris, and when he kissed her in return, had a way of replaying themselves over and over ever since that day. It was one of the things she wanted to remember about her time being a hostage of the Ghost Riders.
But it wasn't just how hot he had looked facing down the Ghost Rider, it had been all the moments leading up to it. The quiet look, the gentle support and the long talks they had which no one else was aware of. The kids certainly didn't know how much time she had spent in contact with Chris Argent even before he showed up in Beacon Hills again.
She wasn't sure how to tell Scott that she was interested in the father of his first love. Yeah, that was going to be interesting.
Of course, she needed time to sort it out herself. Which was strangely made more difficult by inviting Chris to stay with them at their house. Not that Scott was around all that much since he was spending as much time as he could with Stiles but that meant there was a lot of alone time with Chris. Which had a way of muddling up her mind.
Luckily, work was a good distraction even though she felt bad that she left him alone at times. She would remind herself that he was a grown man used to being on his own. Not that it stopped her from making sure he was fed. Like tonight, she actually picked up take out after her shift and had brought it home. Not that he was anywhere in sight.
Confused, she let the take out on the table as she moved upstairs. She was just going to peek in his room to see if he was still around. She certainly hadn't intended to peek....and see him half naked.
Stopping dead at the sight of him wearing only a towel and a goofy grin, her lips parted in surprise right as she felt a little jolt rush through her. To say that it had been a long time since she had seen a man naked was putting it mildly. The whole thing left her blushing...and yet she couldn't look away.

Date: 2017-02-09 04:10 pm (UTC)It didn't show noticeably, a flicker of an eyelid, a shift of his gaze from his clothes to the bed, hinting at Melissa's general direction, but a hunter's instincts were hard to curb. He felt her eyes against his skin, a warm weight creeping under his skin with a subtle flush she may or may not have been able to see...
A beat passed before he lifted his gaze, giving the illusion of having only just sensed her. The lack of alarm in his demeanor was the only indicator that he was being polite, and he did little more than smile at her. Her eyes were wide, and dark in a way that was now familiar, and--was she blushing?
She was blushing. Oh, boy...
"Didn't expect you back so soon." he remarked, his smile growing as he finally extracted a shirt from the knot of clothes in his bag. He opened his mouth, then closed it, breathing in as the distant scent of food touched his nose.
"...is that Thai I smell?..."
